Periodontics in Casablanca: treating the gums

Healthy gums, preserved teeth

Periodontics deals with the health of the gums and the bone that support the teeth. Without treatment, diseased gums can lead to gum recession and then tooth loss. At Casa Anoual Dental Clinic, treatment is adapted to the severity of the condition.

Care

Periodontal treatment

From simple scaling to close follow-up over several months, depending on severity.

01

Periodontal assessment

Measuring the depth of gum pockets and assessing bone loss.

02

Scaling and root planing

Removal of tartar and bacteria under the gum, area by area if needed.

03

Re-evaluation

Check of healing a few weeks after treatment.

04

Maintenance

Follow-up sessions, usually every 3 to 6 months, to keep the result stable over time.

A loose tooth can often be stabilised

The earlier periodontitis is treated, the more likely it is to stabilise the teeth and avoid extraction. Don't wait for pain to appear: the disease is often silent.

Frequently asked questions

Gums: your questions

Is root planing painful?

Deep root planing is done under local anaesthesia. Temporary tooth sensitivity may persist for a few days.

Can a loose tooth be saved?

It depends on the degree of bone loss. Prompt treatment often stabilises the tooth and avoids extraction.

How often is periodontal follow-up needed?

Usually every 3 to 6 months after the initial treatment, depending on severity and response to treatment.

Are bleeding gums serious?

It is the first sign of inflammation. Caught early, it is easily treated; don't stop brushing your teeth, but come and see us.
