Understanding the implant

An artificial root, a natural tooth

The implant replaces the root of the lost tooth. It fuses with the bone and carries a crown that has the look, strength and comfort of a real tooth, without touching the neighbouring teeth.

01

The implant

A small titanium screw placed in the jawbone, which acts as the root.

02

The abutment

The connecting piece screwed onto the implant, which supports the future tooth.

03

The crown

The visible tooth, custom-made from a digital impression.

Our solutions

An implant solution for every situation

01

Single implant

A missing tooth replaced by an implant and a crown, without grinding down the neighbouring teeth.

02

03

Immediate implant

When the bone allows it, the implant is placed on the same day as the extraction.

Implant, bridge or removable denture?

Have you lost a tooth in Casablanca and are looking for a lasting solution? There are three options. The implant is the only one that also replaces the root: it does not rely on the neighbouring teeth and preserves the jawbone.

Who can have an implant?

The vast majority of adults. At the first consultation, Dr Zniber carries out a clinical examination and a CBCT scan at the clinic to measure the height and width of the available bone.

How it works

Osseointegration, simply explained

An implant is a biocompatible titanium screw. Titanium has a unique property: bone gradually fuses with it. This fusion, osseointegration, is what makes the implant as strong as a natural root.

01 · Day 1

Guided placement

Under local anaesthesia, the implant is placed in the bone, exactly in the position planned in 3D.

02 · 2 to 6 months

Osseointegration

The bone rebuilds around the threads and locks the implant in place. A temporary tooth can be worn during this period.

03 · Completion

Final crown

After a digital impression, the ceramic crown is fixed onto the abutment.

Comfort

Does getting an implant hurt?

It is the first question all our patients ask. The answer is no: the procedure is done under local anaesthesia. Here is what to expect afterwards.

  1. 30 to 60 min

    During placement

Local anaesthesia: you feel no pain. With guided surgery, the gum opening is often limited.

  2. Sensitivity

    The same evening

Slight discomfort as the anaesthetic wears off, eased by the prescribed painkillers and a cold pack.

  3. Possible swelling

    Days 2 to 4

Slight swelling may appear, then quickly goes down. Lukewarm, soft food.

  4. Normal life

    From the next day

Most patients return to their usual activities. A check-up is scheduled to monitor healing.

After placement

Caring for your implant so it lasts

Frequently asked questions

Dental implants: your questions

From what age can an implant be placed?

Once bone growth has finished, around 18. There is no upper age limit: the condition of the bone and general health matter more than age.

How long does the procedure take?

Between 30 and 60 minutes per implant depending on the complexity of the case, under local anaesthesia.

Can several implants be placed in one session?

Yes. Several implants can be placed during the same procedure, thanks to 3D planning and the surgical guide.

Is the implant reimbursed by CNOPS or CNSS?

Coverage depends on your insurer and your policy. The detailed quote provided by the clinic lets you make your claim.

What is the difference between an implant and a bridge?

The implant replaces the root and does not touch the neighbouring teeth. The bridge rests on the adjacent teeth, which have to be ground down.

How long does an implant last?

With good care and an annual check-up, an implant generally lasts 20 years or more.
