At Casa Anoual Dental Clinic, each implant is first placed virtually using a 3D scan (CBCT) and a digital impression. A custom surgical guide, 3D-printed at the clinic, then reproduces this plan to the millimetre on the day of the procedure.
Guided surgery replaces “freehand” positioning with a precise digital plan, approved before the procedure.
The axis, depth and location of the implant are defined in advance, away from the alveolar nerve, the sinus and the neighbouring roots.
The implant is placed according to the future crown, not the other way round: better aesthetics, better distribution of forces.
The procedure is prepared in advance. Depending on the situation, placement can be done without opening the gum (flapless), with a generally smoother recovery.
A CBCT exam carried out on site measures the volume and density of the available bone (learn more).
An intraoral camera records your teeth and gums in 3D, with no impression paste.
The two exams are superimposed in planning software. Dr Zniber virtually positions each implant and chooses its size.
The guide is custom-designed and then printed in biocompatible resin at the clinic, with no external laboratory delay (learn more).
Under local anaesthesia, the guide is placed in the mouth and directs each drilling step up to the placement of the implant.
An X-ray check confirms the position. The final crown is made after bone healing.

When the gum does not need to be opened, the procedure is shorter and the after-effects (swelling, discomfort) are often milder. It is done under local anaesthesia, like a standard placement.

No. The procedure is done under local anaesthesia. When the gum does not need to be opened, recovery is often easier.
In the vast majority of cases, yes. A very limited mouth opening or a major bone graft may point to another approach; this is assessed during the CBCT assessment.
Planning and printing are done at the clinic, which avoids the delays of an external laboratory. The exact timeframe is given to you at the consultation.
Straumann, Neodent and ETK. The choice depends on your clinical situation.
Planning and the guide are an extra step, included in the personalised quote given after the assessment. See also our article on the cost of an implant (FR).
