Panoramic X-ray and 3D CBCT scan in Casablanca

A diagnosis to a tenth of a millimetre

Before treating, we need to see what the eye cannot: roots, bone, nerves, sinuses. At Casa Anoual Dental Clinic, the 3D CBCT scanner is available right at the clinic: the scan is done during your consultation.

The examinations

Three examinations, three uses

Each examination answers a specific question. It is prescribed only when it helps the diagnosis.

A small image of two or three teeth.

  • Decay between two teeth
  • Checking a root canal treatment
  • Monitoring a crown
02

Panoramic X-ray

All the teeth and both jaws in one image.

  • First full assessment
  • Wisdom teeth
  • Sinuses and joints
03

3D CBCT scan

Three-dimensional reconstruction of the jaws.

  • Precise measurement of the bone
  • Position of the nerve and the sinus
  • Cracks or abscesses invisible in 2D
When 3D is essential

  • Bone graft or sinus liftAssessing the volume to rebuild
  • Wisdom tooth close to the nerveExact relationship between roots and mandibular canal
  • Unexplained painLooking for a root fracture

How it works

Your scan, step by step

01

Indication

Dr Zniber decides whether a scan will provide useful information for your treatment.

02

Acquisition

A few seconds, standing or seated, painless. Always mention a pregnancy before the examination.

03

Reviewed with you

The images are analysed on screen during the consultation: you see what is going on.

04

Planning

For an implant, the same file is used to design the 3D-printed surgical guide.

What about radiation?

Modern machines use low doses, adapted to the field of view needed. A scan is only taken if it provides useful information. Always mention a pregnancy before any X-ray examination.

Frequently asked questions

Your questions, our answers

Do I need a prescription to have a scan at the clinic?

The scan is carried out as part of your consultation, when Dr Zniber considers it useful.

What is the difference between a panoramic X-ray and a CBCT?

A panoramic is a 2D image of the whole mouth. CBCT is a 3D reconstruction that makes it possible to measure the bone and locate nerves and sinuses.

Can I get a copy of my images?

Yes, in particular if you are followed by another dentist.

I already have a scan taken elsewhere. Can it be used?

Send it on WhatsApp or by email: if it is recent and of good quality, it can be used to prepare your consultation.
